Yudith Oppenheimer - Executive Director
Yudith Oppenheimer is a long time human rights activist, feminist and educator. Before joining Ir Amim in 2008, Yudith was a fellow at the Mandel School for Educational Leadership in Jerusalem. From 2000 to 2006, she served as Executive Director of Kol Ha-Isha - The Jerusalem Feminist Center. During extended stays in South Africa and New Zealand, Yudith engaged in various communal and gender-related projects. Early on in her career, Yudith worked with the Association of Civil Rights in Israel. Yudith holds an MA in Development Administration from the University of South Africa, and currently she is a Doctoral candidate in the Department of Hermeneutics and Cultural Studies at Bar-Ilan University.
Sarah Kreimer - Associate Director
Sarah Kreimer comes from a rich background in public policy, community development and social change. In 1988 she founded the Center for Jewish-Arab Economic Development, which she co-directed together with an Israeli Arab colleague for 14 years. The Center continues today to advance economic development in the Arab sector in Israel, as well as economic cooperation between Jews and Arabs - within Israel and in the Middle East. From 2002 - 2004 Sarah was a fellow in the Mandel School for Educational Leadership. In 2002 she was awarded the Speaker of the Knesset's Award for Quality of Life in the Field of Tolerance. She also served as Chair of the Board of the Association of Civil Rights in Israel. She received her BA from Yale University and her MA in public policy and management from Carnegie Mellon University. She lives in Jerusalem with her two children, and is currently writing a book on her experiences in Israeli society.
Dana Arditty - Administrative Director
Born in Jerusalem, Dana brings many years experience as an administrator of the Jerusalem extension of the Open University of Israel. Prior to her time at the Open University, Dana worked in the fields of banking and tourism.
Orly Noy - Spokesperson
Orly was one of the first staff members of the Israeli-Palestinian radio station "Radio All for Peace" and for over three years, she edited, produced, and hosted a daily program on current affairs. At the same time, she was the spokeswoman of Keshev - The Center for the Protection of Democracy in Israel. Orly is a regular participant in TV and Radio news programs and writes a column on the Ynet opinion section. She is a long-time social change activist, and has been involved in editing and hosting a variety of public events on social issues and human rights. Orly has a B.A. in Middle East Studies and Political Science from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and studied for an M.A, un the program in Contemporary Middle East Studies at the Hebrew University.
Haim Erlich - Coordinator for Policy Development
Haim has worked for many years in the field of education in Israel, in both instructional and administrative capacities. Among other positions, Haim was the Educational Director of HILA, a nation-wide program for youth at risk; Principal of the Experimental School in Jerusalem; Director and instructor at MELITZ, a national institute specializing in informal Jewish education; Vice-Principal of Yad Libowitz Boarding School in Netanya; and a counselor at the Galim Youth Village. Haim has a B.A. in Psychology and Criminology from the Bar-Ilan University, and an M.A. in Business Management.
Ela Greenberg - Development Coordinator
Born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Ela has been in Jerusalem since 1995. She has a BA from the University of Michigan and an MA from the University of Chicago, both in Middle Eastern Studies. She completed her PhD in the Department of Islam and Middle East at Hebrew University. She has written several academic articles about Palestinian education during the British Mandate, and is currently publishing her doctorate about the education of Muslim girls in Mandate Palestine. More recently, she was a fellow at the Truman Institute for the Advancement of Peace, where she examined Palestinian youth culture, including doing field work with a Palestinian rap group from Shu‘afat refugee camp. She is also a volunteer with Machsom Watch.
Ahmad Mustafa Sub Laban - Ir Amim Field Researcher
Born and raised in Jerusalem, Ahmad has wide experience in media and mass communication.
Ahmad began his career as a correspondent for The Palestine Report Online newspaper in Jerusalem. Before joining Ir Amim, Ahmad was the Public Relations officer at the Jerusalem Center for Social and Economic Rights, a Researcher at the Palestinian Independent Commission for Citizens Rights in Ramallah and Head of the Information, Education, Communication, and Advocacy program at the Palestinian Family Planning and Protection Association. Simultaneously, Ahmad has worked as a freelance journalist for different international newspapers and agencies, including the British Channel 4, the San Francisco Chronicle and USA today. Ahmad holds a BA in Mass Communication, and a Diploma in political science.
Lilach Klein-Dolev - Study Tour & Internet Coordinator
Born and raised in Kibbutz Ramot Menashe, Lilach has been in Jerusalem since 2005. She has a bachelor's degree in Middle East history and a master's degree in conflict managment. Among other positions, Lilach worked at Yad Ben-Zvi, and did an internship at Rabbis for Human Rights. She also works at the The Peres Center for Peace.
